This image was taken in Rajasthan. It’s an interesting depiction of the hierarchal structure of the corporate system. Within it is very clear to see who is the Boss, The Manager the Labourer. And of course at the top – The Sacred Cow.
This image was edited entirely in Photoshop from a Jpeg file. For some reason my RAW was corrupt. I pulled all the colours toward a complimentary – opposing color grading of oranges and blues to provide defined chromatic contrast without unpleasant competition between the colours.

editorial image retouch
As you can see from the slider, there is a fair bit of difference between the initial image and the final retouch.
This was done using about a dozen or so layer masks (curves), hand tinting and manual dodging and burning. I typically split the luminosity using luminosity gradient masks and then work on the colours that fall into each grading individually. This gives me a lot of control of where the colors fall in the final image.
